Unione Rugby Capitolina came to being from the motivation of a group of older Rugby players looking to create a space dedicated to training Rugby to the younger generations. To date the grounds include 2 pitches (one of which is made of synthetic grass 4th generation), changing rooms, gym, guest rooms, club house and restaurant, offices and video room, infirmary and ample parking space. In these 13 years Unione rugby Capitolina has really developed: and its junior teams have won 4 national championships and 4 Regional championships; 20 players have reached national level. URC has always grown rapidly and it counts now approx. 400 players from the age of 6 to 18.

THIRD DAY RUGBY PITCH

Stadio Flamino address: viale Tiziano - Roma

The Flaminio Stadium is used for different sports. The Stadium was officially inaugurated in 1959 just before the 1960 Rome Olympics. The stadium is mainly used for Rugby and football. The stadium was designed by a famous architect called Pier Luigi Nervi. The original seat capacity was 24,000 (8000 of which are sheltered/covered) and along with the two main sports the area in and around the stadium also has a semi-Olympic size swimming pool (25x10), a gym for fencing, wrestling, weight lifting, boxing and gymnastics.

Since 2000 the stadium is where the Italian National Rugby team holds its matches.

Starting from 2012 extension works will be carried out to bring the total seat capacity to approx. 42,000. The works will be carried out without damaging the original structure of the stadium as is considered an important architectural monument.
